I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

Jawbreaker is for young adults and is all about making the most of your life. Jolene Stockman is full of encouragement and motivation and her energy leaps off of the pages.

There is some good advice in Jawbreaker. Just a couple examples: it encourages you to change things if you’re not happy and it suggests visualization, which is a great tool.

There seemed to be one mixed message. Jolene says that all you have to do is order what you want from the universe and, if you believe, you will receive it; but she also encourages planning for your future. The ordering what you want message makes me nervous because I know teens who would read that and focus only on that part of the message.

Something that stood out for me: “find something that you love with all your heart” when you’re deciding what you want to do as far as work. I’ve always told my kids this. It doesn’t matter how much money you make if you’re miserable making it.

This is a good book to help young adults find their way.
