Of Dreams and Shadow is a young adult novel with a little romance and a touch of the paranormal.
It was easy for me to relate to Jenna because my family moved when I was around the same age. She was lucky to find new friends so quickly. Her next door neighbor, Chase, is a good guy but he’s a jerk to Jenna because he’s scared for her safety. That didn’t make sense to me and I was glad when he got past that.
There is a story within this story about Silas, who lived in the 1700’s. Even though Silas was raised by an abusive, evil mother, it was hard to feel sorry for him because he is so evil.
I liked Of Dreams and Shadow although I was disappointed in the ending. I expected it to be more exciting or suspenseful at the end.
