Blood Runs Cold is the second book in The Cases of Lieutenant DeLong. I liked the first book but this one was even better. It starts with the murder of Jim DeLong’s sister-in-law and he’s allowed to be the lead in the case even though he’s related.
DeLong and his brother, Sullivan aka Sully, are estranged because of guilt they feel from some things that happened when they were teens and ended up in juvie. Neither DeLong has been able to get over what happened to them and it’s been easier to just stay away from each other so they don’t have to face those feelings.
There are many possible suspects even though the victim was a good woman who tried to help troubled teens. It takes some serious investigating, but DeLong gets to the bottom of it. At the same time, he and his brother have a chance to make things right with their relationship…maybe?
