quiet, snowy path back home. A tree branch snaps in the distance.
Then another. A man is there with her, following close behind,
whispering her name. She looks back, sees him gaining on her, and
runs. Who is this man, and why is he carrying a gun?
Once I got into Gone Daddy Gone I could tell that there were previous books written about Sloane Monroe because other cases were mentioned. When a case was mentioned, enough was told so that this book does stand on its own.
Gone Daddy Gone starts out with a bang. When Shelby McCoy is shot and killed, her father and his girlfriend, Sloane, are determined to find out who the killer is. They both have enemies because of the type of work they do. He’s in law enforcement and she’s a PI. And they soon find out that Shelby had kept secrets from them. So many possibilities and they’re running out of time. Talk about keeping you on the edge of your seat!
I enjoyed this book and plan on reading the first 6 books in the series when I can find the time. Sloane is not perfect but she’s stubborn and independent and has a good head on her shoulders.
the genres of mystery, thriller, romantic suspense, and supernatural
suspense. To date, she has published almost two dozen novels and
novellas, including her New York Times bestselling mystery series
based on a sassy, OCD challenged private eye named Sloane Monroe. In
2013, Bradshaw’s fourth novel in the series, Stranger in Town, was
a finalist for a Shamus Award, and that same year,
book three in the series, I Have a Secret, won best thriller of the
year from eFestival of Words. She was raised in California and
currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah.
