My Review

I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy from iRead Book Tours. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

The family’s cat is depressed, and they can’t figure out why, so they take him to the vet. The vet says that it’s because the cat misses their dog that recently died. The prescription? A new kitten to give the cat a new friend.

This is a sweet story that rhymes. The illustrations are mostly black and white at the beginning except for the blue cat to emphasize the mood. Once he has a new friend and is happy, all the color is back in the illustrations.

My Cat is Blue will help children understand why others may be sad or upset when losing a pet. The one thing parents may not welcome is the solution!
