My Review

I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy from BookSprout. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

What a fun game for the whole family! This is one of those games that the more people who play, the better. There is a chart at the end of each section to keep scores of each player, then one for the total scores at the end. That’s handy, but you can always keep track on paper which I think would be easier, especially if there are quite a few people playing.

There are a LOT of questions but since they’re broken down by section, if kids get tired of playing, you can always stop and play again at another time.

My favorite section is the last one which is trivia questions. All of the rest of the questions in the game are “would you rather” questions.

Our family (around 20 of us) gets together on Thanksgiving and Christmas, and we always play several games. This will be a great addition!

What a fun game book! This game has four sections of questions where a winner for each question is chosen by a designated judge. The four sections are:

  • The Land of Silly. Example: Would you rather live in a mushroom with the Smurfs or in a pineapple under the sea with SpongeBob SquarePants?
  • The Gross Challenge. Example: Would you rather eat your toenails or eat your ear wax? (YUCK)
  • The Fun Catch. Example: Would you rather visit the International Space Station or an underwater hotel?
  • The Impossible Choice. Example: Would you rather be the funniest person alive or the smartest person alive?

This is a great book for a family to enjoy together. It would be a lot of fun on a long road trip. It would also be good for when friends get together or even in the classroom.

My Review

My family has always played a lot of cards, especially when we all get together. I was curious what card games were in this book, and if there were any that we didn’t know about that we could try.

Super Fun Family Card Games is separated into three sections: Games for Two or More Players, Games for Two Players, and Games for One Player. Each section is broken down into Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulty.

There are a lot of games in here that we already play, some of which are family favorites: Nertz, Spoons, and Hearts just to name a few. There are quite a few two-player games that we haven’t tried before that I’ll try out with my husband.

There is an introduction that explains card game basics such as terms that are used universally. Each game comes with instructions on how to deal and how to play, and includes the length of play and the recommended age group. I can’t wait to try out some of the “new” games!

I’ve always enjoyed puzzles and my favorite are logic puzzles, so of course I wanted this book! It contains sudoku, mazyu, nongram, calcudoko, logic grids, and cryptic puzzles.

Sudoku is okay but I’ve gotten kind of bored with them. I’ve never done Masyu, and I found these to be very difficult for my brain. They’re really a challenge for me. I haven’t done Nonograms either but I like them. They’re a bit challenging but fun. The Calcudoku and Cryptic Puzzle can also get challenging when I do the bigger ones, but I also like them. My absolute favorite has been Logic Grids since I started doing puzzles.

The puzzles in Tricky Logic Puzzles for Adults is one of the best puzzle books I’ve gotten in a long time. They’re both challenging and fun. I’ve worked on some of them, but I still have more to do. They’re a great way to spend a little time in between reading books!

My Review

I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy from Callisto Publishing. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

One of the reasons I got this book was because it’s large print and it’s easy on my eyes. I’ve always liked to do puzzles, and a plus is that different kinds of puzzles help my brain fight dementia.

Brain Teasers for Adults is separated into three sections by difficulty. I found it interesting that I breezed through the first section until I got to the riddles, which I’ve always had trouble with, and I had to really think about those. As the levels increased by difficulty, I had to spend a little more time on each puzzle. Fun and learning! My favorite way to pass the time.

Before the answers in the back of the book, there is a section with clues for each puzzle, so if you get stuck, you can look at the clues before giving up.

If you enjoy doing puzzles, Brain Teasers for Adults is for you. If you don’t have experience doing puzzles, maybe this is the book to start with since it starts easy and gets more difficult AND it has clues to help you. It’s always good to give your brain a new challenge.

My Review

I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy from Callisto. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

The Large Print Bible Word Search Book is like any other word search book but the large print makes it a lot easier to work the puzzles. Each puzzle correlates to a book in the Bible and uses about 30 words from that book.

I make it a point to try to do different types of puzzles to keep my brain sharp and to help avoid dementia as is says in the introduction. These word searches are easy and fun to do which is an added plus.
