Unfortunately, one crime leads to two and her carelessness puts Ghost-ma and her interfering feline in danger. My Review

I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy from the author. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

Mitzy Moon has an adopted younger brother named Stellen, and she finds that she loves being a big sister! Stellen’s friend, Jo Jo, has entered an interesting exhibit in a competition, and he’s helping her set it up. When Jo Jo’s dog disappears, though, things start to get crazy, which always seems to happen when Mitzy is around (of course, she is there too!). Now the three of them have to find the dog.

But that’s not the only mystery and not the worst thing to happen. Grams is kidnapped! Mitzy is beside herself with feelings of loss, and she’s determined to get her back no matter the cost.

Mitzy and her sheriff boyfriend, Erick, are getting closer now that he’s accepted that she sees ghosts. He’s so funny! He still doesn’t believe in ghosts, but he believes Mitzy can see them…I can’t quite wrap my head around that one. Their relationship is heating up, but it’s still sweet. Their interactions can be quite entertaining.

The characters in the Mitzy Moon Mysteries are unique, flawed, and loveable. Mitzy is smart, hilarious, and determined. Stellen is smart and a good kid. Jo Jo is adorable and super smart. The two of them go well together. I like the addition of Stellen and Jo Jo, and I hope to see them in future books.

Hearts & Dark Arts is another fun paranormal mystery with suspense and a touch of romance. Mitzy continues to grow and has opened her heart to several people now. She’s learning to trust others and has even told several people about her grams’s ghost. That’s a big change! Although this book stands on its own, I recommend reading all of the books in order to get the most out of the series.

My Review

I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy from the author. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

It seems that Mitzy Moon can’t go anywhere without trouble showing up. This time she’s at her first snowmobile race where one of the coaches is found dead. He’s been murdered and there are several viable suspects.

Lately, she and her sheriff boyfriend, Erick, work together on cases because he knows she’ll investigate with or without his consent. Unfortunately, they don’t get too far into this case when he finds out that she’s been hiding her gifts from him. He’s understandably upset with her, and she’s afraid she’s lost him for good.

The characters in the Mitzy Moon Mysteries are unique, flawed, and loveable. Mitzy is smart, hilarious, and determined. She and her dad are getting closer, and it’s nice seeing her family expand. I like Stellen, the teenager that Mitzy has taken under her wing. He’s a good kid who’s had a rough time the past few years, and he’s so smart!

Hopes & Slippery Slopes is another fun paranormal mystery. When I think back to the first book and compare the Mitzy then to the Mitzy now, she has really grown. She’s still stubborn and hilarious, but she’s learning to trust others and continues to increase her circle of family and friends. Although this book stands on its own, I recommend reading all of the books in order to get the most out of the series.

My Review

Mitzy Moon and Sheriff Erick Harper are dating, really care for each other, and are taking things slow. When she goes to her first broomball match, she isn’t ready to see this side of Erick. She’s a little concerned when Erick and a player from the other team fight, but she’s assured that’s how broomball is and that Erick is just defending his team members. But Mitzy has a right to be concerned because that player is found dead the next morning, and Erick is arrested for murder. Poor Mitzy (and poor Erick)! I felt bad for both of them.

The characters in the Mitzy Moon Mysteries are unique, flawed, and loveable. Mitzy is smart, hilarious, and determined. Grams and Pyewacket are supportive and assist her in any way they can. Grams’ lawyer and friend, Silas, also helps Mitzy out a lot, and he’s taught her a lot about using her gifts. He’s a persnickety old man, but Mitzy and Grams love him.

Mitzy goes undercover at the nearby community college. She’s good at going undercover, and Grams always does a good job of picking out the best attire for the job. It cracks me up that in the small town of Pin Cherry Harbor, no one seems to be surprised when they see Mitzy wearing a wig.

Lies & Pumpkin Pies has a big twist that I wasn’t ready for. It is the tenth book in the Mitzy Moon Mysteries series, and if you like murder mysteries with some humor, great characters, twists, and a little romance, you’ll love Mitzy Moon!

My Review

It’s hard to believe that it hasn’t even been a year since Mitzy Moon inherited her grandmother’s bookstore. She’s gotten close to her father and especially Grams (in her ghostly form). All of the main characters are unique, flawed, and loveable. Mitzy is smart, hilarious, and determined. Grams is a force of nature but she and Pyewacket have taken a backseat in this book. Erick, the sheriff, is an amazing man and in love with Mitzy.

Mitzy and Erick decide to try to solve the cold case of Mitzy’s mother. Mitzy had been told that she’d died in an accident but Erick found out that wasn’t true. When they go to Arizona together, they do find more evidence but will it lead them to the killer?

Being together in one room and working together brings Mitzy and Erick closer, but they are both determined to take things slowly. I love that! Friends first and lovers later is the best way for a relationship to stand the test of time. One problem, though, is that Erick is beginning to realize that Mitzy’s “hunches” are more than hunches. I wish she’d come clean. He obviously loves her, and her psychic abilities shouldn’t change the way he feels. He already suspects, he doesn’t seem bothered at all from what he’s seen, and he’s Erick.

Tracks & Flashbacks is the ninth book in the Mitzy Moon Mysteries series and my absolute favorite so far! I was not ready for it to end. I need more.

Book Review: Charms & Firearms by Trixie Silvertale

Mitzy Moon plans to take a break from snooping and learn to ski. And after receiving a mysterious gift from her travel companion she feels light as a feather. But her heart goes stiff as a board when she faceplants into a corpse.

Racing back to the bookshop to consult her otherworldly helpers, Mitzy is horrified to discover her meddling Ghost-ma is missing. Her spoiled feline seems to ignore her pleas and her alchemist attorney isn’t answering either. She can’t decide if she’s lost her powers or her mind…

Can Mitzy solve a murder without her extra sensory perceptions, or will one misstep put her in the killer’s crosshairs?

My Review

I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

I read the first four books in this series, and I really enjoyed them, so I was happy to read this book when it was available.

Mitzy Moon seems to attract trouble. She has some psychic gifts, though, that she’s slowly learning to use. They can often get her out of trouble, and I’m curious what else she’ll be finding out she can do.

Mitzy finally has a family since she inherited her grandmother’s bookstore. She’s getting to know Grams in her ghostly form and is finally getting to know her father. The more Mitzy Moon books I read, the more I enjoy the characters. Mitzy is clumsy, smart, and hilarious. Grams is a force of nature and has learned to move things, so she’s now able to communicate via writing with Silas. Silas is Mitzy’s lawyer and mentor who is helping her learn about her gifts.

The one unlikeable character who has been in all of the books so far is Rory Bombay. Mitzy is attracted to him but Grams doesn’t trust him at all. I’m with Grams; I never liked him even when he was giving Mitzy gifts and pouring on the charm. Is it finally time for her to learn her lesson? And then there’s the hot sheriff. He and Mitzy would make the perfect couple…

When Mitzy literally stumbles across a body in the woods near a ski lodge, she’s warned by the sheriff to let the professionals look into it. She hasn’t done so thus far, so I’m sure he knows that won’t stop her snooping. Mitzy has her hands full between having her gifts locked, being locked in a basement, and running into a ghost that’s not Grams. Will she and/or the sheriff find out who the murderer is?

These books are quick and fun reads. Each book builds on the last ones and they’ve become must-reads for me. I definitely recommend Charms & Firearms, as well as the other books in the series. I can’t wait for the next Mitzy Moon mystery!
