My Review

I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy from the publisher. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

Inner Peace is a good guide for beginners. The introduction says that “committing yourself to meditation and journaling is a big step toward self-exploration, reflection, and growth.” Personally, I also think that daily meditation leads to an inner peace and calmness.

Each section begins with a meditation followed by writing prompts for your journal. The prompts are followed by an intention to set. For example, after meditating about the peace of nature, the intention could be to pay attention to pieces of nature outside their natural environment, and to take a moment to appreciate them. Each intention is then followed by an inspiring quote.

This guided journal is a great way for someone to begin meditating, especially if they don’t know how to start.

My Review

I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy from the author. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

Snail & Boy is a different kind of book; it’s short and sweet and has a good message. Boy lost his family in the war but soon realizes that he still needs to have a positive outlook on life. He knows that bringing happiness to others will bring him happiness. When he meets wise Snail, they form a bond like no other.

In several of the chapters of Snail & Boy, the author sets apart the important idea of that chapter. Love, peace, freedom, and happiness are all messages. Examples:

“Yes, this world needs a revolution. War is obsolete, and we must learn to live in peace.” (p 24)
“If you want freedom, give freedom to someone else.” (p. 45)
“If you want to be happy give happiness to someone else.” (p. 49)

Snail & Boy is a quick read with a good message.

A photo of a snail like this one is between each chapter.
