The Most Frequently Stolen Books
According to Publishers Weekly, the books that are stolen the most from bookstores are the same across the country. They are:
- anything by Charles Bukowski tops the list
- anything by William S. Burrows
- On the Road by Jack Kerouac
- The New York Trilogy by Paul Aster
- anything by Martin Amis
Interestingly, public libraries report that the most stolen books are how-to books, the Bible, and anything to do with witchcraft, the occult, UFOs, or astrology.
