My Review
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.
I have read all of the books in the Family Portrait series and I’ve enjoyed all of them but Bad Uncle is my favorite so far.
I feel like I have really gotten to know the characters. Gillian Felix has done a good job of developing them and their relationships.
Adriana continues to lie to Haze about her age because she’s afraid of losing him and she loves him so much. It’s such a sad situation because she has really settled down because of him but she’s only 15! Even though their relationship is wrong and is based on lies, I found myself not wanting Haze to find out for both their sakes because he loves her just as much as she loves him.
Thankfully, Leighann’s life has settle down since her mom is in an insane asylum. She was so miserable in Perfect Escape that I was happy to see things turn around for her. Surprisingly, she and Adriana have become best friends and they seem to be good for each other.
Zax and Leighann are both in relationships but it is obvious that she still cares about him and he is realizing that he has feelings for her, too. I am thinking that the grass is always greener when it comes to Zax.
Kevin wants to get out of “the business” but he seems to be getting in deeper and deeper. His Uncle Adrian’s appearance surprised me because Adriana had said he’d disappeared and no one knew where he was, but Kevin didn’t seem surprised.
Yes, it’s like a soap opera and I love it. I can’t wait to find out what happens next. I like the way Bad Uncle ended. This book could stand alone but it would be even better if you read the entire series.
