Summary:

When a mysterious attack lands Heather in the hospital on the brink of death, her family rushes to her side. Through an inconvenient maze of shadowed memory and family secrets, Heather can trust only herself to discover if her husband, parents, sister or aunt tried to kill her. During the course of their own narratives, each character confesses to their various crimes of passion, envy and ignorance, weaving Heather’s mystery into an untraditional tale about seizing the opportunity to start over.

Review:

I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

Heather is attacked in her own home and she and her family take turns narrating about the events that lead up to the attack.

The character development in this story is very good. As each person speaks, you learn more and more about who they are and why they feel the way they do. This family is pretty screwed up and and each member has their own secrets.

As the story progresses, there are a lot of twists and turns. Nothing is as it appears on the surface.

The one drawback is that I was frequently confused about the timeline of events. Also, I was confused by chapter 1. I am still confused about chapter 1. Despite my confusion, I think anyone who likes dramatic mysteries will enjoy Behind You.
