My Review
I received a free ecopy of this book from the author a while back and hadn’t had time to read it but when I received a copy of Killer Pursuit, the 2nd book in the series, I knew I’d have to make time for this one too because I like to read series in order if possible.
This is the first book in the Allison McNeil Series. Allison works for the FBI as a behavioral analyst and her specialty is serial killers. She’s undercover trying to prove her hunch that Arnie Milhouse is a serial killer. Allison is smart when it comes to analyzing others but she has her own deep dark secrets that give her frequent nightmares. She also doesn’t do well at taking orders (not a good thing when working for the FBI) and frequently puts herself and others in danger. Despite her flaws, I like Allison’s character. She’s independent and stubborn.
Killer Within is a thriller that is difficult to put down. It also has some twists that took me by surprise which I always like. I started reading Jeff’s books with his first book, Jack Templar Monster Hunter, and I like his writing whether it’s Jack Templar, horror, or thrillers. I look forward to reading more of his books.
