I read Elphie and Dad go on an Epic Adventure and Bravo and Elphie so when the author asked me if I wanted to read the latest Elphie book I was happy to do so.  Elphie Goes Trick or Treating is an adorable book for young children. It’s about Halloween, and Elphie is planning on dressing up as a tiger but his costume is so scary that he is afraid to go trick or treating in it. His mom takes off his costume and lets him go as himself.

Elphie goes trick or treating with his friend, Phante, who is dressed up as a pirate. Phante ends up being jealous because a lot of the neighbors give Elphie extra treats for his “costume.” Elphie is so nice that he splits the candy with Phante. With a hug from Phante, Elphie feels like he is brave enough now to be a tiger-elephant and he changes into his original costume.

Elphie Goes Trick or Treating is a cute book with colorful pictures that will keep the attention of young children. It also teaches the importance of friendship. It’s the perfect time for this book with Halloween just around the corner!
