My Review

I chose to read this e-book after receiving a free e-copy from the author. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

The Scavenger Girl series is one of my favorites. Jennifer Arntson pulled me into this world she created and I can’t get enough of it. I fell in love with the first book and I don’t know how she does it, but each book gets better.

Una is the main character and is a scavenger girl which means that she has no birthright. She has been purchased by a man named Blue but she doesn’t plan on going to him. He has betrayed her in more ways than one, including having her put in prison for 30 days to prove that she is not yet a woman. Una lives with her parents and two brothers, except she recently found out that they aren’t her biological brothers. That’s a good thing since she’s in love with Calish and is pregnant with his child. Calish would do anything to protect Una and their unborn child. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what he does and it’s not a good decision.

Una ends up in the Resistance camp and it takes time for her to accept that she is considered an equal there. She’s never been treated as a peer so it’s a big adjustment. She makes several friends, the most important being Nik who started the camp and is a seer like Una.

Scavenger Girl: Season of Hytalia is full of loyalty, betrayal, lies, true love, adventure and more. I laughed, I smiled, I wept, and I wept some more. This book is intense and I couldn’t put it down. If you like dystopian novels, especially ones that are a little different, you can’t go wrong with this series. I’m looking forward to the next book. Actually, I can’t wait for the next book!
