Little Rosie goes to stay with her uncle. There she meets some new friends…and some enemies. She doesn’t know that her emotions will trigger something unusual. So far from home, suddenly Rosie has become a full witch like her mother. My Review
I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.
When Rosie goes to stay with her uncle for a while during the summer, strange things start to happen. Her mom is a witch, and Rosie is coming into her powers at the wrong time! Her uncle didn’t even believe in magick until he saw what was happening to Rosie. They are able to deal with the powers that have popped up until things get a bit crazy.
This is a sweet children’s story told from the perspective of Rosie. She’s a perceptive little girl but like all of us, she still has a lot to learn. While staying with her uncle, she learns that there are better ways to deal with bullies than revenge. After all, that’s just stooping to the bully’s level.
There are a few things that were too detailed at times, but overall this is a good story. I like that it explains what it means to be a Wiccan which is something that is often misconceived. A Little Magick is an entertaining story that children will enjoy.
