When the program manager of a local radio station is murdered, a recently fired morning show host becomes the prime suspect.
That host is more than just a murder suspect, however. She’s also one of Daisy McDare’s good friends.
And Daisy doesn’t believe for a minute that her friend is guilty.
So, Daisy sets out to prove her friend’s innocence.
But is the truth more complicated than it appears to be?
My Review
I chose to listen to this book after receiving a free audio copy from the author. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.
Daisy McDare & the Deadly Radio Affair is a novella in the Daisy McDare cozy mystery series. I’m listening to them in order which isn’t necessary, but it does make the stories flow well.
Daisy’s friend Christina is fired from her job as a disc jockey, and that same night her boss is murdered. There are multiple suspects, but Christina is a prime suspect, so Daisy is on the case once more. Luckily, and surprisingly for Daisy, Lt. Crumple wants to work together to solve this one. What a refreshing change!
Daisy and Crumple solve the case pretty quickly. They are able to narrow down the suspects easily. I did think that Crumple would have taken more control over the interviews rather than Daisy asking more of the questions. It is unrealistic, and with these characters, he wouldn’t take the back seat like that.
The narrator, Donna Soto, did better on this book than previous books I’ve listened to her narrate. She did a decent job.
I recommend Daisy McDare & the Deadly Radio Affair to anyone who likes cozy mysteries and super quick reads. I look forward to listening to the next Daisy McDare mystery.
