Revelations is a fantasy that brings Merlin, Morgana le Fay, and dragons to modern times. It starts with an archeological dig that uncovers a mysterious crystal globe and from that moment, Jason’s life will never be the same.

Jason becomes immersed in Merlin’s world and once he believes in Merlin and all that he represents, he feels he has no choice but to help him. Jason and his new girlfriend, Beverley, adore Merlin and do everything they can to assist him on his quest. Both Jason and Beverley are likeable characters and are the perfect pair for Merlin to trust in the modern world. I liked the way Merlin was portrayed. He’s so powerful but still human and so funny at times.

Revelations is full of action, mystery, legend, history, and, of course, a little romance. Anyone who likes fantasy will like Revelations.

After being accidentally thrown into the modern world of the 21st century, the wizard, Merlin teamed up with archaeology student, Jason Carpenter to aid him in his battle against the evil sorcerous, Morgana le Fay.

In this second book of The Merlin Chronicles, Merlin braves the mysterious depths of Morgana’s underground lair in search of the alien device with which she communicates with the Dragon Lords.

Meanwhile, Jason is forced to battle his way across war-torn Central Africa in search of a legendary gem that holds the key to closing the dragon gate forever. When Merlin is captured by Morgana’s thugs, Jason and Beverley, must risk their lives and the future of mankind in a desperate effort to save their friend.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice starts out right where Revelations ends. Merlin and Jason are returning to York to figure out how to stop Morgana le Fay once and for all.

I really liked Revelations so I was glad I had The Sorcerer’s Apprentice to start right away and it did not disappoint. It contains as much action, mystery, history, and humor as the first book.

The thing I don’t like about this book is that I have to wait to read the third one. Again, I think any fantasy lover will enjoy this book.

This is the third book I’ve read by Daniel Diehl. His writing is more detailed than I normally like but he presents the detail in such a way that it is very interesting. I’m looking forward to reading more of his books (especially book number 3 in this series).

Daniel Diehl has been an author, writer and investigative historian for thirty-five years. For nearly twenty years Diehl has been involved in writing for publication and documentary television production. Mr. Diehl’s work has won awards from the Houston (Texas) Film Festival, the National Trust for Historic Preservation (US) and the City of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Arts Foundation. Working alone and as a part of the multi-award winning team of Daniel Diehl and Mark Donnelly, Diehl has produced work in two main categories; trade publication and television documentary scripts.
