Description

Take a trip into space with this delightful, engaging picture book based on real science.

The Outcast Star is the story of Brother Star and Sister Star and their happy life in space, until the day Sister Star dances too close to a black hole…

Dealing sensitively with issues of love and loss and packed with beautiful illustrations, this book will capture the minds of young readers and give them an enjoyable introduction to the intricacies of astronomical discovery.

My Review

I received a free ecopy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I thought that this was just a cute book with pretty pictures until I got to the end and found out that it’s based on a scientific discovery. How cool is that?

Dr. Heinz Edelmann and several other scientists wrote a paper about the discover of the star HE 0437-5439. One of the theories on how that star came into existence is what The Outcast Star is based on. There are also a couple articles for adults at the end of the book that were written about the star.

This is my favorite kind of book for young children. It’s cute and colorful but based on something that they can learn and even could get someone interested in science.

Praise for The Outcast Star
