Book Review & Giveaway: Dance Diaries: Learning Ballroom Dance: What I Wish I Had Known (Book #1) by The Girl with the Tree Tattoo

dance-diaries-1-learning-ballroom-dance

Why didn’t anyone tell me? Ballroom dancing is fun, magical and, most of all, life-changing. When I first started learning ballroom though, I fumbled around awkwardly and sometimes painfully, figuring things out as I went along. Certain things weren’t explained or just never came up in conversation. From what to expect in class to how to find the right teacher or dance partner to how much ballroom really costs, Dance Diaries: Learning Ballroom Dance covers the things that I wish I had known when I first started learning ballroom. This quick read is your cheat sheet to help you get the most out of your ballroom experience.

My Review

I received a free ecopy of this book for an honest review.

Dance Diaries: Learning Ballroom Dance is about ballroom dancing. It’s obvious that the author loves ballroom dancing and shares her experience and knowledge about it for those who are interested in possibly taking some lessons.

I learned a lot from Dance Diaries: Learning Ballroom Dance. The author makes it clear that the lessons are expensive so that alone could limit how much some people can learn. I am getting ready to read the second book in this series, Dance Diaries: Ballroom Budgeting: How I Afford to Dance, so that should prove to be interesting and helpful.

There are different levels of ballroom dancing and different ways to learn. For example, you can take group lessons or private lessons. Some people take lessons for strictly social reasons (my son and daughter-in-law took lessons before their wedding, for example). Others may choose to compete or dance in showcases.

This is an activity that is not easy but obviously the author finds it very rewarding. I definitely recommend this book for anyone is interested in or curious about ballroom dancing.
